So I put together a new site for Carolyn. I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. I finally found some inspiration from this template at CSS Zen Garden.
Then, using the WordPress template Bluebird theme by Randa Clay, I was able to bring this thing together.
I’m not sure what it was about the Blue Bird theme that made me use it. To be honest, I tore it apart and put it back together again. I guess it just looked the easiest to accomplish my end result.
Photoshop played a big part in this one too. I tried a few things I’d never done before, and I think they turned out pretty well. I’m becoming far more proficient at manipulating margins and padding to accomplish my design.
Of course, I have to give Carolyn some props for creating a really nice piece of work in the art doll angel I used as the central header image. The pic doesn’t really do it justice. It’s probably hard to tell, but each wing was done with over 200 small flowers folded to look like feathers. It’s brilliant to see in real life. I hope to get my hands doing some “physical world” art soon. Something I’ve always wanted to do is create hand made journals. Oh well, maybe after I get my book written, which at this rate will be never
